Dare to Dream

WOMEN HELPING WOMEN-
"The Future Belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
- Eleanor Roosevelt

The Women's Club of Summerlin is about women helping women.  Each year the club awards "Dare to Dream" grants to women who are trying to better their lives.  This could be assistance with educational opportunities, learning new skills, business development or equipment; anything a woman can dream of that will help her move toward a desired goal.

Act Now!  Deadline for application is May 16, 2012.  Female applicants must be 21 years of age or older and reside in the Las Vegas Valley.  For more information call 702-804-5188.

If you are interested or know someone who might be interested you can download the application.  Click here for application form.

Congratulations to the 2011 Dare to Dream Grant Recipients

Arlene Basinski: Attends Le Cordon Bleu cooking school with a dream of becoming a chef and business woman in Las Vegas. Her goal is to teach children to cook and do volunteer work in the community related to food and cooking.

Rhya Jovan: Attends a European massage school working toward a goal of becoming a licensed and professional massage therapist for infants and young children. Her belief in the power of healing touch and assisting others in achieving optimal health and wellness is part of the journey that she is on.

Laura Graves: As a photography business owner, Laura understands the importance of up to date equipment and components to offer the best job to her clients. Another goal is to become an LLC and have other photographers working with her to allow her business to grow both in the community and on her website.

Annette Hinkle: As a student at Le Cordon Bleu, Annette’s goals are to become an executive chef in a hospital or medical facility along with teaching Le Cordon Bleu. She would also like to teach classes at a hospital showing people how to eat healthy and take charge of their dietary needs and believes that “Knowledge is Power”.

Jessica Kruze: As part of the Accelerated Route to Licensure, Jessica is working toward her master’s degree while teaching special education at Leavitt Middle School. This grant will allow her to pay for an entire class at UNLV rather than adding to some major medically related debt. Jessica would like to insure that the Las Vegas community keeps a highly qualified, highly motivated and compassionate special education teacher
